Swaziland’s Second National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan and targets
The Swaziland Environment Authority on behalf of the Government of Swaziland has been involved in an exercise aimed at revising the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAPs) to be in-line with the adopted global Biodiversity Strategy 2011-2020. The NBSAP is a document theough which the country’s plan for addressing threats to biodiversity are elaborated. As such, the NBSAP is the principal instrument for the implementation of the CBD and it is also relevant to the other biodiversity-related conventions and agreements which contribute to the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity and its Aichi targets.
Swaziland received $220,000.00 funding from GEF for the revision of the NBSAP and the preparation of the fifth National report to CBD. The NBSAP has now been completed.
