Procedures for decision-making and communication of decisions to the notifier are laid out in Article 10. This also includes time frames for decision making. The decision taken can be one of the following as shown in Figure 2.

Risk Assessment forms the basis of informed decision making as laid out in Paragraph 1 of Articles 10 and 15. Annex III sets out the objective, use and general principles of Risk Assessment as shown in Figure 3.
