Decisions

The Biosafety Act, 2012 obligates prospective GMO users to apply to the Competent Authority before they can undertake any activity involving GMOs in the country. Activities may involve conducting Confined Field Trials, Introduction into the environment, GMO use for Food, Feed & Processing, marketing of GMOs as well as GMOs for import, export and transit. Currently the Competent Authority has issued out the following decisions:

  1. Decision to conduct BT cotton Confined Field Trials by the Swaziland Cotton Board.
