Target 2: By 2022, biodiversity values have been integrated into all national, regional, municipal and rural development and poverty reduction strategies and planning processes, and are being incorporated into accounting and reporting systems.
Current status: The predominant current perception is that ecosystem services are “public goods” which are in endless supply and require no maintenance. There is limited accounting for biodiversity and ecosystem services. A limited number of studies on valuation of biodiversity have been conducted.
