Swaziland has recently submitted her Third Report on the Implementation of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to the Secretariat of the Convention of Biological Diversity in line with her compliance requirements. Please comment on the progress made to date including your assessment on the implications of this on the potential for safe application of modern biotechnology for sustainable development.
- I think the country is making positive strides towards effective implementation of the Protocol
- I think the movement is too slow and it is hindering use of the technology.
- I think the country is not doing enough to protect biological diversity and human and animal health
